Projects updates

Progetto NON completato.

  1. DIFFICULTIES ENCOUNTERED

It was an oversight on our side not to have included this challenge in the section of “Difficulties encountered”. We, however, included it in the impact and the conclusion. We indicated that through your support and donation we had put a slab and a roof to safely shell the structure, but we had to source and raise funds to undertake the remaining part of construction work on the theatre namely, plastering, painting and finishing. We apologize for that.

  1. What are you going to do?

The need for the surgical theatre is urgent as we indicated in the application and in the report. We serve an average of 530 patients per month. And many cases of road accidents, c-section, and operation for internal organs cannot be managed and are referred to the Referral centres often which is too expensive or distant.  Hence we are challenged. However, we have made the following steps:

  1. We are locally saving from the user fees and presently we are targeting SHs 300,000 per month for development towards the theatre.
  2. As we indicated we need to source more funds for the completion of the project. Surely, as you indicated there is a need, to get the theatre to a usable stage. Hence we look up to your guidance.
  3. As for initial theatre equipment, they are already on site, and ready for use.

Conclusion: I would like to thank you for your generosity, communication and interest to support us to enable us to have a usable and good theatre in place at St. Luke’s Health Centre, Kiyinda.

The new project
