El proyecto

Sabou is a rural village in Burkina Faso, central West Africa.

Here poverty is at home: people live off the fruits of the earth, dependent on the whims of the seasons.

And when drought comes, life becomes even more difficult for everyone.

In Sabou there is often a shortage of food, let alone sanitation.

A few years ago our friars built the “Maximilian Kolbe” Medical Center, financed with offerings from the friends of St. Anthony.

It has become the point of reference for 120,000 people, since the nearest hospital is 100 kilometers away.

In the years of activity the Medical Center has saved many lives and many others have seen them blossom, to the joy of their parents.

All of this is excellent news, however, this facility is too small to meet the needs of the local population.

We need more beds and more space for the Emergency Room (A&E).

Br. Joseph proposed building a small extension, into which he would move the administrative staff offices.

This would free up more rooms, to be used for medical care.

Br. Joseph and the mission friars believe very much in this project and ask for support from the Anthonian Family.

Why don’t you also donate to this beautiful initiative, thus saving many lives?
