Questa diocesi è stata eretta nel 1997. Elathagiri è un villaggio molto povero. Nella scuola ci sono 1.750 studenti, molti dei quali appartengono alla fascia più povera.
I bagni sono praticamente inutilizzabili.
È urgente costruirne di nuovi per garantire condizioni igieniche accettabili.
