La congregazione delle Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod (SCC) è una congregazione internazionale impegnata nell’assistenza ai poveri: scuole, ospedali, istituti professionali, orfanotrofi.
Un anno fa le suore sono state chiamate a dirigere un collegio misto nel villaggio di Alirajpet dove ci sono 550 studenti.
Nel 2017 C.A. ha aiutato questa realtà con l’impianto presso la scuola di un sistema osmotico per purificare e produrre 1.000 litri di acqua con un finanziamento di € 3.500 sia a beneficio degli studenti e insegnanti sia per la popolazione circostante di circa 4.500 persone.
A maggio 2018 ci scrive una triste e-mail Sr. Tresa per dirci che un ciclone ha distrutto alcune parti del muro di cinta della scuola e chiede se possiamo aiutarle a ricostruirlo per la sicurezza degli studenti, che risiedono anche nell’ostello.
Chiedono a Caritas Antoniana un contributo da unire a quello di altri benefattori.

C’è stato un notevole ritardo nella consegna dei soldi da parte del vescovo al responsabile del progetto.
Il 30.11.18 abbiamo ricevuto conferma del ricevimento dei fondi e finalmente si può dare inizio ai lavori.
Sono stati ordinati i materiali da costruzione e presto inizieranno i lavori, dopo la pulizia del terreno
